Supporting others through workshops & counseling

  • A group of people attending a seminar or workshop in a bright, modern conference room, seated at individual desks facing a presenter at the front with a large screen.

    Large Group

Happy Tails brings dynamic, hands-on learning to your organization or school. When our dog, Archie, joins a group, abstract concepts become real, and participants get to practice essential skills like respect, communication, self-regulation, and teamwork in a fun and memorable way. Each session is a unique opportunity to see these skills in action, making them stick long after we leave.

  • A woman surrounded by five children sitting on the floor, holding a small brown dog while the children reach out to pet it.

    Small Group

Small-group settings allow for deeper application. Our canine-assisted lessons provide a powerful, hands-on opportunity to reinforce key skills.

Working with our dog, Archie, participants learn to self-regulate as they comfort the small pup. They evaluate their verbal and non-verbal communication when Archie responds unexpectedly, asking, "How did my tone or body language affect him?" Guided by a trained canine-assisted play therapist, these simple yet profound interactions ensure the lessons truly stick.

  • Young woman in a black hoodie holding a curly-haired brown dog in her arms indoors.

    Individual Sessions

Sometimes, a bit more one-on-one support is exactly what's needed. Keri and Archie offer individual animal-assisted sessions to provide a safe space for personal growth.

In these sessions, participants can build empathy, ease anxiety, improve communication, and promote executive functioning. Archie's calm presence and Keri's guidance create a unique opportunity for people of all ages to work through challenges and discover new strengths in a way that feels natural and effective.
